Aralia Racemosa

Spikenard is not widely used today as a medicinal ingredient. Herbalists may use a tincture of the root in cough syrups, alone or with such other ingredients as wild black cherry bark, elecampane, and coltsfoot. There is some evidence that the root may be effective against rheumatism. Wherher or not spikenard root helps, it is pleasant tasting and harmless.
