Ligustrum Vulgare

Privet leaves have long been held to have astringent properties, and pharmacologists state that this belief is valid. A few herbals still recommend them for this use - suggesting that they be boiled and the extract used as a douche for vaginal irritations or as a gargle for sore throat.

Do not take internally. The fruits and leaves can cause gastrointestinal irritation, liver damage, and reduction in blood pressure.
