Coneflower (Echinacea)

Echinacea Angustifolia

Scientists find that there may be some basis for the use of the plant as an external antiseptic. Extracts of the plant have also been shown to stimulate the immune system, and this action may account for the plant's value as an agent that helps restore normal body functions. Researchers have also investigated, but cannot substantiate, claims that the root works as an anti-inflammatory (an agent that reduces pain and swelling resulting from injury).
