Blue Cohosh

Caulophyllum Thalictroides

Herbalists today use the roots to treat rheumatism and bronchitis. Good experimental data exist to verify their effectiveness in treating rheumatism, and there is some evidence that the roots may have antispasmodic properties.

Blue cohosh "berries" (actually seeds) are poisonous. The plant is an irritant to the skin, the root to the mucous membranes.
